Widget baru di Google

Got mentioned on web? Google will tell you where

New York: Technology giant Google has rolled out a feature in Google Search that would notify you whenever your name is mentioned on the web -- anywhere in the world, a media report said.

This features works as long as you are logged in to Google and you have allowed Google to save your web and app activity, technology website Venturebeat.com reported on Sunday.
On the Google homepage, a new widget can be seen at the bottom of the first page of search results that will help a user to easily set up a new Google Alert for new references of your name.
This could prove to be a reasonable move by Google to those who want to find out what is online about them.
A user can adjust settings like email frequency, source types, languages, regions, whether to only send the best results and the email address to send alerts to.
The feature is now live in India.

Muhyiddin di PKR?

MUHYIDDIN SERTAI PKR?

Fight Aging

6 SECRETS TO STAY YOUNG

"With aging, we've always studied things that decline," says Changiz Geula, PhD, research professor of neurology at the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Center at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine. But now she and other experts are looking instead to unlock the secrets of the "superaged," those lucky individuals who seem to stay vital well into their 80s and beyond. Here's some of their latest research, with advice on how you can add years to your life.

Stop eating so much

In Okinawa, Japan—home to some of the world's oldest people—centenarians stop eating when they're 80 percent full, says The Blue Zones author Dan Buettner, who studies longevity all over the planet.

They're onto something: Scientists at St. Louis University found that, while both exercising and eating less led to weight loss in the study's volunteers, cutting calories also lowered production of T3, a thyroid hormone that slows metabolism. The researchers believe that lower T3 levels may also slow the aging process.

Use your brain

Dr. Geula, who has studied 80-year-olds who perform at the same level as people in their 50s on neuropsychological tests, has found that the superaged have fewer brain tangles—deposits of protein linked to Alzheimer's—suggesting that their brains have some sort of protection that normal brains don't. While scientists puzzle this out, there's a lot you can do to keep your own synapses firing. Learn Italian, take up the cello—even driving a new route to work can wake up sleepy brain cells.

Pour yourself some merlot

You've probably heard a lot about resveratrol, a compound in red wine and grape juice that seems to slow aging. One recent study found that resveratrol-fed mice had stronger bones and better motor coordination, and showed fewer "old age" problems like heart disease, inflammation, and cataracts. The jury is still out on whether resveratrol has the same effect on humans, but nutritionists say drinking red wine in moderation does have heart-healthy benefits.

Lose the muffin top

In one large study published in 2009, researchers who tracked 6,583 people for more than 30 years found that having significant belly fat in midlife can nearly triple your risk of dementia.

Eat more plants

In his study of centenarians, Buettner found the longest-living people tend to eat less meat and more beans, soy, and nuts.

PM Statment regarding DOJ

PM statment regards DOJ

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak reiterated that national sovereign fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) does not have any assets in the United States and is not directly involved in the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) civil suit.
Speaking to reporters after chairing an Umno Supreme Council meeting, Najib said this is because 1MDB has not been approached for information by the DOJ.
"This shows that 1MDB is not directly involved in the complaint. There are no 1MDB assets in the US," he said.
Najib, who is Umno president, said the party views the matter seriously and again urged those named in the DOJ suit to clear their names.
He noted that it is unprecedented that a civil suit in the US received so much publicity.
Najib added that DOJ's information did not come from 1MDB, Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC), or the Malaysian government in general.
Meanwhile, he said the Umno Supreme Council had urged the government to review and step up security protocols for better public safety.
This is because of the increased terror threats faced by countries throughout the world, including Malaysia.
He said these include SOP reviews for public gatherings, events, or travels.
"We have to assume the security threats are real for all countries and Malaysia is no exception," Najib said.
Lastly, he announced that Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak will replace Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah as Umno treasurer.
Ahmad Husni recently resigned from all party posts and government posts including as Second Finance Minister.

Chartered accountant Rafizi offers free service to audit 1MDB

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has volunteered to join the new audit team to be appointed to number crunch the allegation-riddled 1MDB.

The Pandan lawmaker said he is a chartered accountant registered with the Institute of Chartered Accounts England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

"I am also prepared to volunteer my service for free," he added in a media statement.

If 1MDB's board of directors is convinced there were no wrongdoings, Rafizi said, the easiest and most cost-effective way to convince the people is to appoint him to the new audit team.

"I will officially write to 1MDB board of directors chairperson Irwan Siregar regarding this," he added.

Earlier today, Irwan, who is also Finance Ministry's Treasury secretary-general, said that an announcement would be made soon regarding 1MDB’s new auditor.

1MDB had recently revealed that its current auditor Deloitte Malaysia would be quitting soon.

The firm also said that its 2013 and 2014 audited financial statements should no longer be relied on until allegations made by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) are determined in court.

This was then repeated by Deloitte, which said its audit of 1MDB in 2013 and 2014 would have been impacted if it had known at that time the information contained within the DOJ lawsuits.

The DOJ last Wednesday filed two lawsuits to seize more than US$1 billion of assets which it alleged were purchased using funds siphoned from 1MDB.

Deloitte is the third audit firm to part ways with 1MDB since its inception in 2009.

Harga minyak global kembali merudum

Story

The Mowgli Girl

These hazel colored sockets can scare even a werewolf in pitch dark, that sun-kissed skin seems as if hiding many burns within, and greasy-hair that wants to shine even if the light cancels itself... she is like any other aspiring girl which in many ways she isn't. And what she isn't is what defines and defies her.

Her last name is Gandhi. Alas! Her traits are all antithetical. On any given day, she can run behind a dog, match its pace, fight with it, scare it, and steal its bone without breaking into much sweat; and the very next day, she narrates you that story in such an animated way… as if she is Didi and you are meant to be her Dexter. With so much passion she narrates her stories  that sometimes you just sit and wonder… what her life would be without stories... and if... stories had any life without her! Stories are so much a part of her life… such… that together they seem like a pair of conjoined twins, and might forever bury the ‘art of story-telling’ with her demise.

She may not have given a thought to the purpose of her life… but may be… just may be… it is her destiny to transcribe stories of nature, sing songs of a perishable yet fruitful life, dance on the face of despair or a fair, and gather all the scattered happiness and throw it in air without any wrinkle on her brow.

She has a unique gift of switching between talking sense and nonsense; with such effortless ease that at times it is tricky to distinguish in which state she is in. And the real trick is not to guess it. Rather just flow with it.

But all said and done… she’s the girl-next-door for one and all… however… sometimes people love to negate her. Assuming she didn't have a vocal chord... she might have as well come across as an animal. Such is her Mowglish connect with these creatures sometimes… that she can any time demonstrate the audacity of lifting up a piglet sucking its mother’s nipple; put her finger into a yawning Alsatian’s mouth, bite a kitten’s earlobe and even sit on a crocodile and demand a ride.

Phewwwww… it’s hard to close-end her personality type… and this piece is getting boring anyways. But then you know whom to put the blame on.
